Why Brisbane homeowners choose Brisbane Fence Builders

A fence should go up straight, stay up in storms and look good for years. That comes down to post footings and careful setting out.

Posts set properly

Post holes dug to depth and concreted, so the fence stays straight in wind and wet ground.

Clear quotes

Neighbour friendly

We can provide a quote you can share with your neighbour for a dividing fence.

Fencing for Brisbane homes

Brisbane's storms, sun and termites are hard on fences. Old paling fences lean and rot at the base, and storm winds can flatten a fence with weak posts. Steel fences in Colorbond style sheeting are popular because they resist termites and need little upkeep, while hardwood or treated pine timber fences suit character streets.

If you share a boundary fence, Queensland's dividing fence rules generally mean neighbours share the cost of a sufficient dividing fence. A clear written quote makes that conversation easier.

Signs your fence needs replacing

  • Leaning sections or posts that move
  • Rotten palings or rails, especially at ground level
  • Termite damage in timber posts
  • Storm damage and missing panels
  • Gates that drag or will not latch

Common fencing questions

Who pays for a dividing fence in Queensland?

Under Queensland's dividing fence rules, neighbours generally share the cost of a sufficient dividing fence equally. If you want something more than a sufficient fence, you usually pay the difference. The Queensland Government website explains the process and forms.

Colorbond style steel or timber?

Steel fences resist termites and rot and need little upkeep. Timber looks natural and suits character homes, but needs more care and can be hit by termites. We can quote both.

How long does a new fence take?

Most residential fences take one to three days on site, depending on length, ground conditions and gates.

Do pool fences have rules?

Yes. Queensland has strict pool safety rules covering fence height, gaps, climbable objects and self closing, self latching gates. We build pool fences with those rules in mind.
